FPU Faculty, Students Take Wellness Research to Sweden

The project reflects the collaborative, hands-on research approach fostered by Dr. DeLauer's NH-INBRE (Idea Network for Biomedical Research Excellence) lab, which has received funding from the National Institutes of Health for the past eight years to support research in underfunded states. This unique teaching lab model involves students in every aspect of the research process, from conception and data collection to analysis and dissemination. Annually, Dr. DeLauer funds between 4-9 students to gain critical research experience. This year, five FPU students and two faculty members, including Associate Professor Andrea McGill-O’Rourke, Ph.D., traveled to Sweden to present their findings to an international audience, where the presentation was well received. The team is now preparing to submit a manuscript for publication to further share their insights on student wellness on residential campuses.
